Rhinoplasty
What is a rhinoplasty?
A rhinoplasty is a surgery of the nose that can: decrease the size of your nose in relation to other facial structures, decrease the width of your nose at its bridge, refine your nose profile by addressing visible humps or depressions on the bridge of your nose, alter your nasal tip if it is large or bulbous, drooping, or overly upturned, correct nostrils that are large, wide, or upturned, and increase nasal symmetry and decrease nasal deviation.
Is a rhinoplasty right for me?
The best way to determine the answer to this question is to meet with a trusted, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your treatment options. Dr. Jason D. Johnson at PHX Plastic Surgery will take the time to get to know your unique medical history and aesthetic goals before recommending a procedure. If you’re ready to see if a rhinoplasty is right for you, schedule a consultation today.
What should I expect during my consultation?
The goal of the consultation is to determine if a rhinoplasty is the right choice for you. During your consultation, your doctor will explain the full procedure to you and will ask you several questions including:
- Why do you want a rhinoplasty?
- What are your expectations for the procedure?
- What is your desired outcome?
- Do you have any medical conditions or drug allergies?
- Are you currently undergoing any medical treatments?
- Have you had any previous surgeries? If so, what were they?
In addition to asking these questions, PHX Plastic Surgery will use your consultation to evaluate your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors you may have, discuss your rhinoplasty options, examine and measure your nose, take photographs for your medical record, recommend a course of treatment, discuss likely outcomes of a rhinoplasty and any risks or potential complications, and answer your questions.
What should I expect before my rhinoplasty?
Before your rhinoplasty, you may be asked to get lab testing or a medical evaluation, take certain medications or adjust your current medications, stop smoking, and avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements that may increase bleeding.
We will also give you special instructions about what to do the night before and morning of your surgery and regarding your post-operative care and follow-up appointments.
Our priority is your satisfaction and we will do everything we can to make your rhinoplasty experience as smooth as possible.
